I’m a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with more than 11 years of experience helping people make sense of nutrition in a way that actually works in real life.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s this:

Healthy eating should not mean giving up the foods you love.

Food is more than calories and nutrients. It’s culture, family, comfort and enjoyment. My role is not to hand you a list of foods you’re “allowed” to eat. It’s to help you understand what your body needs and find changes that work with your health, your lifestyle, your culture and your tastebuds.

11+ years of real-world nutrition experience:

My career has given me the opportunity to work with people in many different healthcare settings and with a wide range of nutrition concerns.

For more than three years, I worked alongside family physicians and medical practices, supporting patients with chronic conditions such as:

  • diabetes and prediabetes

  • fatty liver disease

  • high cholesterol

  • high blood pressure

  • weight and metabolic concerns

That experience taught me very quickly that no two people are the same.

One person may be trying to lower their A1C without giving up roti. Someone else may have just been diagnosed with fatty liver and have no idea where to begin. Another may be trying to improve their cholesterol while still cooking meals their family will enjoy.

Good nutrition advice has to be realistic, personal and sustainable.

Home care, chronic disease and older-adult nutrition:

I also spent more than three years working in home care, supporting clients with a wide variety of health and nutrition needs, including:

  • cancer nutrition support

  • weight management

  • liver disease

  • kidney disease

  • older-adult nutrition

  • chronic disease management & much more

Working with people in their own homes helped me understand nutrition from another perspective. It’s not enough to know what someone “should” eat. You also have to understand what they can realistically prepare, what they enjoy, their medical needs, their routines and the people they share meals with.

That experience still shapes the way I counsel today.

From the clinic to the grocery aisle:

I have also worked as an in-store dietitian, helping people turn nutrition advice into everyday decisions.

Which bread should I buy?
How do I read this food label?
Is this product actually a healthier choice?
What should I put in my cart if I have diabetes or high cholesterol?

I helped shoppers with label reading, healthier grocery choices, meal ideas and recipe development.

That practical side of nutrition is still a big part of my approach today.

The science matters — but so does the person:

My education includes a strong science background and a Master’s degree in Nutrition, along with my training as a Registered Dietitian and certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator.

I believe strongly in evidence-based nutrition, but I also believe nutrition advice is only useful if someone can actually live with it.

When I work with a client, I look at the whole picture:

health, blood work, medications, eating habits, culture, schedule, family, favourite foods and personal goals.

Because a “perfect” nutrition plan that you dislike and cannot maintain is not much of a plan at all.

Why I started Bite Rite Nutrition:

After years of working with patients in different healthcare settings, I wanted to create a space where nutrition counselling could feel more personal.

Not rushed.
Not one-size-fits-all.
And definitely not built around a long list of foods you can never eat again.

Today, I support clients with concerns including:

Diabetes & Prediabetes
Blood sugar, A1C, meal planning and sustainable eating strategies.

Fatty Liver & Metabolic Health
Nutrition support for fatty liver, MASLD, insulin resistance and related metabolic concerns.

Weight Management & GLP-1 Nutrition
Practical support for sustainable weight management and nutrition while using GLP-1 medications.

High Cholesterol & Heart Health
Nutrition strategies for high cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure and cardiovascular health.

Pregnancy & Gestational Diabetes.

A little about me outside the office:

I’m a mom of two, I love trying new recipes, and I’m always curious about foods and flavours I haven’t experienced before.

I also absolutely LOVE travelling.

One of my favourite parts of visiting somewhere new is discovering its food — the ingredients, spices, traditions and stories behind the dishes.

Food tells you so much about people and culture.

Maybe that’s also why I’ve always enjoyed working with clients from so many different backgrounds.

There is no single “healthy diet” that looks the same for everyone.

And there shouldn’t be.

Let’s find an approach that works for you:

You don’t need another restrictive diet.

You need a nutrition plan that makes sense for your health and your life — while still leaving room for the foods you enjoy.

If you’re ready to get started, I’d love to learn more about you and what you’re hoping to achieve.
